Judge Savage Submits Over 2700 Petition Signatures: Massive Interest in Campaign for Yavapai County’s Newest Judge

PRESCOTT, AZ: (MARCH 29, 2024) - Danalyn Savage, Yavapai County’s Superior Court Judge for Division 5, turned in nearly 2800 signatures on her nonpartisan petition to support her candidacy for the position she entered on January 3. After beginning her collection of signatures on the day she took office, Savage exceeded all expectations and far surpassed the minimum threshold needed for independent candidates (1500 signatures.)

“I am incredibly grateful to the army of supporters who helped me reach this milestone. We set a goal of 1875 signatures for this project and we cleared that goal by about 900 signatures," said Savage reflecting on the massive success of her petition drive. "The massive interest in my candidacy is incredibly encouraging. If elected, I am committed to making the hard decisions and ensuring justice, while bringing humility to the bench and honoring the humanity of every person who enters my courtroom. I look forward to continuing my campaign, getting into all corners of our amazing county and connecting with the people who call Yavapai home. Completing this first phase of my campaign is important, but we have real work ahead of us.”

To reach this unprecedented number of petition signatures for a judicial candidate, Savage’s efforts took her all over Yavapai County, including West Sedona, Cottonwood, Yarnell, Wickenburg, and Chino Valley. Because she is running as an independent, Savage was required to get 3-4 times as many signatures as Republican or Democrat candidates.
